Surface Ship Platform
ONR awarded the Hybrid Laser Arc Welding Process Verification and Implementation for Ship Production project to NSAM-managed Huntington Ingalls Industries—Ingalls Shipbuilding/EWI team, with the objective to develop process parameters and conditions for single-sided HLAW butt welds for various strengths and thicknesses of steel. Ingalls Shipbuilding is teaming with EWI on this optimization effort.
ONR awarded the Automated Part Detail Extraction project to the NSAM-managed Huntington Ingalls Industries—Ingalls Shipbuilding team, with the objective to develop a mechanism to automatically dimension, label, and supplement parts coming from ShipConstructor® based on identified standards from Engineering.
